A wide range of diverse musical styles and creative ideas make up Sci-Fi Prodigy's originals with an interesting blend of top 40, rock, fusion, funk, latin rhythms, new age, and soundtrack with catchy lyrics. Their debut 6-song independent cassette, self-titled "Going Up" sold 6,000 copies in its first month of release in July 1992.

Sci-Fi Prodigy was also featured on "Canada's New Rock" in 1993(hosted byAl Joynes - Q107FM). Their recent CD single, "Hearts on Fire" appears on Impact Magazine's compilation CD and was being played in the U.S. Hockey Games.

The band has also written music for WBEN-TV, Buffalo, CTV, Lorimar Films/Television, Stone Films, Orion Films, and recently "Luxor" Hotel/Casino, Las Vegas, for their Thrill-Motion Theatres.

The group has performed in such venues as: The Sheraton Hotel, New York, "SCI-FI" Convention, The Mirage Hotel, Las Vegas, "SCI-FI" Concert, Toronto's El Mocambo, Lee's Palace, and Diamond Club, the Hamilton Convention Centre, New York's The Bottom Line, Reno, Nevada's Delmar Station, California's Markee Club, opened for "Star Trek: Generations" "the movie" at Toronto's Eglinton Theatre, November 18, 1994. Appearances have also been made and heard on London's FM 96, Q107-FM, K104 FM Woodstock, CKSL 1410 London, and Buffalo, New York's WGRF '97 Rock Radio. They have been interviewed in London's Scene Magazine, and CKCO-TV. Also featured on The FM 96 London Halloween Special October 29, 1994-The Pete & Dan Hour!

Not only does Sci-Fi Prodigy perform many of their 17 originals using multimedia rear-screen projection, lasers, and computer generated images, they do perform cover material from selected artists that reflect their own style and professionalism from groups like Yes, Rush, Dream Theater, Genesis, Elp, Kansas, Saga, and the The Gin Blossoms to name a few. The band's audience is largely made up of fans of Sci-Fi collecors of magazines,Sci-Fi TV shows and movies such as (Star Trek, Babylon 5, Outer Limits, ID4, X-Files)

Formed in 1985 in Ottawa, the 4-piece band now based out of Toronto, Ontario, is led by Principle songwriter/producer/lead vocalist,Patrick Cross who also plays all guitars and developed/created the original "band concept"!
